These air belt sanders are typically used to clean out layers of paint or rust, clean and level workpiece surfaces, and sculpt contours. They operate on compressed air and need minimum preparation. Air belt sanders are used for stripping layers of paint or rust, clean and smooth workpiece surfaces and sculpt contours. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these air belt sanders from brands like Speedaire, Chicago Pneumatic, Dynabrade and Ingersoll-Rand. These air belt sanders run on compressed air and require minimum preparation. Dynabrade belt sanders have larger openings, as compared to other standard sanders, for better belt tracking and facilitate working with a composite belt guard for quick-changing of abrasive belts. These units feature a patented design which allows compatibility with 1/8 Inch (3 mm), 1/4 Inch (6 mm) or 1/2 Inch (13 mm) wide x 24 Inch (610 mm) long abrasive belts. Air belt sanders from Chicago Pneumatic are engineered for working in constrained spaces and feature a sanding head which pivots to 360 degrees for multi-position sanding. They come equipped with an ergonomic handle for extended use and facilitate easy change of abrasives and the contact arm.
