Binding Screws

Binding screws are designed to hold parts together. They are used with colour charts, sample books, catalogues, fabric swatch books and albums.

Features

  • These binding screws are compatible with accessories such as extension pieces, distance holders, swatch straps for binding screws, suspension eyelets, washers and cover caps.
  • They are divided into 2 parts: head and threaded portion.
  • The head is used for driving the screw in to / out from the surface.
  • The threaded portion starts just below the head and is designed for tapping threads in the workpiece for a tight grip.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of coarse threads over fine threads?

  • Coarse threads are more durable and have greater resistance to cross-threading and stripping.
  • The height of each coarse thread is greater than the corresponding fine thread. So more material is there in between each thread, thus increasing the flank engagement.

How to remove tough binding screws?

  • Use an impact wrench with a posi-drive bit.
  • Heat the screw head with a soldering iron by holding the tip on the screw head for at least 30 seconds. Apply a fair amount of pressure while trying to twist or loosen the screw.
