Bottle jacks are best suited for short vertical lifts as they can not sustain heavy loads for a long period of time. They are a type of hydraulic lever jack with a high-pressure master cylinder and a small diameter piston that pumps fluid into the slave cylinder. The two cylinders are mounted next to each other on the rectangular cast iron base. These bottle jacks use a simple lever to pump up the master cylinder and lift the equipment on top of the jack. The lever also acts as the wrench to operate a release valve for positive load control during the jack descent, as well as protect the tool from overpressure.
