Description
Hydronic unit heaters utilize non-potable hot water or steam produced by a boiler, indirect water heater. Dayton heaters save floor space and are therefore commonly used in large areas like manufacturing facilities, warehouses and garages. These heaters are capable of pushing heated air horizontally and vertically and spread it across a larger area. Choose from a broad range of these Dayton hydronic heating units, available in 11000 cfm, 500 cfm, 450 cfm, 395 cfm and 245 cfm air flow options.
Working Mechanism
- Hot water is produced by a central boiler for heating the water to the required temperature.
- The hot water is then circulated through a series of heating coils / radiators within the unit heater.
- The heat from the hot water is then transferred to the surrounding air through the heating coils.
- A fan or blower inside the unit heater circulates the warm air into the heated space.
- The cooled water then returns to the central boiler for reheating and the cycle repeats.
- The temperature of the hot water is then controlled by adjusting the temperature setting on the central boiler and the amount of heat produced by the unit heater can be adjusted by controlling the flow of hot water through the heating coils or radiators.
Features
- Dayton water & steam heated horizontal hydronic unit heaters come with fans to spread & push the heated air horizontally. These heaters have threaded female NPT connections to supply water / steam for heating the air and are equipped with adjustable louvres to control the direction of airflow. They can be mounted on walls for heating industrial spaces.
- Dayton suspended vertical hydronic heaters are mounted on the ceiling or wall vertically to spread the air evenly. They feature a totally enclosed motor for protection from dust and have a maximum operating pressure of 75 PSI. These heater units are ETL & ETLc listed and comply with OSHA standards for safe & secure operations.
- Dayton water heated horizontal hydronic unit heaters are suspended from a wall / ceiling horizontally to spread the air evenly. These units heat the stored water by passing a current through serpentine coils.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the flow rate of Dayton hydronic unit heaters?
A. The flow rate of these heaters range from 245 to 11000 cfm.
Q. What safety precautions should be taken when using hydronic unit heaters?
A.
- Get the system installed by a qualified technician.
- Inspect the central boiler regularly and maintain it to ensure safe operation.
Q. What is the role of a thermostat in hydronic unit heaters?
A. The thermostat controls the temperature of the hot water and the rate of heat transfer. The thermostat is set to the desired temperature and will turn the unit on and off as needed to maintain the required temperature.
