Open enclosure style motors are ideal for locations with minimum ventilation. Their open style design ensures that the air circulates freely through the motor. Open drip-proof enclosures offer ventilation but they also prevent liquid drips from getting into the motor enclosure.

What is the difference between DC & AC motors?

AC motors utilise mains frequency to rotate with an external frequency converter to check the speed. DC motors are brushless with built-in electronics for controlling the speed and torque of the motor.

How do constant speed motors differ from constant torque motors?

Constant speed motors are used in tasks where the static pressure remains unchanged, such as pedestal fans or outdoor condenser units. Constant torque motors are suitable for tasks where static pressure is expected to change, like commercial VAV units, furnaces or air handlers.

Description

Jet pump motors are used for drawing water from wells. Raptor Supplies offers a wide variety of jet pump motors from Leeson, Baldor, Dayton and Marathon Motors. Leeson pump motors are designed for use in conveyors for food and material packaging applications. These motors come equipped with a TEFC or DP enclosure for protecting internal parts of the motor from dust & rain, and offer both rigid & round mounting options for easy installation. With a maximum speed of 3600 rpm, they are capable of withstanding ambient temperatures up to 40 degrees C. Dayton open drip proof face mounting jet pump motors are equipped with ball bearings to ensure low friction and minimum lubricant leakage. Featuring keyed & threaded shafts, these motors deliver nominal efficiency up to 77.9% and can be operated up to an ambient temperature of 40 degrees C. These jet pump motors are available in 1 and 3 phase options on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

These motors feature a magnetic coil that is driven by either single or three-phase power input depending upon the motor structure.
Once these motors are connected to the power supply, the generated magnetic field rotates the rotor that in turn rotates the shaft.
The shaft further rotates the connected machinery for power transmission tasks.
