Description

Butterfly valves are rotary valves, with a disc-shaped seating element, that can be rotated up to 90 degrees to either open or close the flow passage. They are widely used in throttling services, especially where large-sized valves with automatic actuators are required. Georg Fischer butterfly valves feature a modular design which facilitates exchange of individual system components and require 50% less actuation torque as compared to centric butterfly valves, due to the double eccentric operating principle. These units further come equipped with an electric position indicator in the mounting flange to prevent misalignment. Val-Matic butterfly valves exhibit a disk-shaped closing mechanism to ensure fluid shutoff via an actuator and ASTM A126-rated cast iron construction for providing damping vibrational loads. These AWWA Class 150B standard butterfly valves can be operated at temperatures ranging between -32 and 210 degrees F and withstand water pressures up to 150 PSI.
