601 Series Straight Line Action Clamps
Destaco 601 Series straight line action clamps are ideal for light machining applications in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. These clamps employ clamping force from the side rather than the top, securing workpieces in applications having limited space. They come equipped with a lever handle that engages the plunger to press against the workpiece & hold it in place while fixturing, welding, testing, plastic injection molding, CNC machining, assembling and staking or light pressworking of the industrial equipment. Besides locking in the extracted position, these straight line action clamps also allow the handle rotation and falling below the mounting plane to be locked in a retracted position. These straight line action clamps come with a flanged base with threaded holes that help in quick & secure mounting of the clamps to a worktable / flat surface and come integrated with a lever handle that engages the plunger to press against a workpiece & hold it in place. These Destaco clamps are made of steel for structural rigidity and resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces and are equipped with attached round plungers for quick & secure fastening. These straight line clamps feature a compact design for both single part & mass production, and are capable of withstanding loads up to 100 lb. Destaco clamps are compatible with Destaco 105203, 205208-M & 205943 spindles to provide high performance automation, workholding and containment solutions as well as optimum clamping force. These clamps are available in imperial and metric measurement variants on Raptor Supplies.
We also supply 602 Series straight clamps offering load bearing capacities up to 200 lb.
Destaco 601 Series straight line action clamps are used for soldering, gluing, automotive parts assembling and fixture testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a straight line action clamp work?
A straight line clamp incorporates a sliding plunger to provide straight line clamping action. The plunger can be locked in either pulling or pushing direction for holding workpieces.
Which grease is ideal for Destaco clamps for their rebuilding?
A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.
What does the clamp's holding capacity signify?
The clamp's holding capacity or holding force represents the capability of a clamp for holding down any mechanical equipment or a sheet metal while assembling automotive parts or during any manufacturing process.
What is the significance of the red colour of the handle of Destaco clamps?
There is no such significance of colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.
What does clamping force mean?
Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors including; cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
Does Destaco supply any water resistant clamp sensors?
Yes, Destaco also supplies inductive sensors designed in accordance with IP65 standards to ensure protection from powerful hydraulic jets, dust & heavy rain.
What accessories are compatible with Destaco 601 Series straight line action clamps?
Destaco 601 Series straight line action clamps can be used with the brand's 105203, 205208-M & 205943 spindles.
