Proto manufactures ASME rated 6- and 8-point sockets that are ideal for use on fasteners that are stubborn or damaged or those that are made from soft materials. These sockets feature high-performance TorquePlus drive configuration which allows for quick & easy socket engagement to the fastener flats without involving the corners. This configuration has a radius-corner design that helps to shift the contact area and stress away from the fastener corners and distribute these contact stresses over a wide area of the socket. This effectively minimises accidental slippage. The TorquePlus internal design also helps extend the tool's life by minimising fastener rounding and allows the user to more easily work with worn, rounded or rusted fasteners.
