REED Instruments R9900-NIST IAQ (indoor air quality) meter is ideal for simultaneous monitoring of carbon dioxide, relative humidity & temperature in schools, factories, greenhouses, hospitals, hotels, offices and other locations where carbon dioxide levels are high. It can also calculate wet bulb & dew point temperatures and statistical weighted averages like TWA (8-hour time-weighted average) & STEL (15-minute short-term exposure limit). This R9900-NIST indoor air quality meter comes with batteries and a hard carrying case.

Working Mechanism:

• Turn the meter on by pressing the POWER button. The meter should beep & start a 30-second warm-up. The meter should display the current carbon dioxide, temperature & humidity readings under the normal-measuring mode. Readings are updated every second. However, under extreme environmental changes, the meter may take 30 seconds for the carbon dioxide sensor and 30 minutes for the RH sensor to respond.
• Press the 'DP/WBT' button for switching the temperature display between ambient, dew point & wet bulb temperatures.
• Users can press the 'MAX/MIN' button under the normal-measuring mode to view the maximum, minimum & weighted average readings. After each press of the button, the display would show the MIN, MAX, STEL (short-term exposure limit) & TWA (time-weighted average) in order and then return to the normal-measuring mode. During MIN & MAX modes, the display would show the minimum & maximum readings of carbon dioxide. During STEL & TWA modes, the main display would measure the weighted average of carbon dioxide readings for the past 15 minutes (STEL) or 8 hours (TWA). The lower displays should monitor the environment normally.

• This meter is calibrated in a fresh well-ventilated area, in sunny weather, at a standard 400 ppm carbon dioxide concentration.
• Switch on the meter & press the CAL & MODE buttons at the same time.
• '400ppm' & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 5 minutes to indicate manual calibration activation.
• Carbon dioxide calibration is complete when the blinking stops. The meter should automatically return to the normal measuring mode.
• Turn off the meter at any time to stop the calibration.

A.

• The humidity sensor is manually calibrated at 25 degrees C using compatible 33% & 75% salt solutions (calibrators).
• Switch the meter on & plug its humidity sensor probe into the 33% salt bottle.
• Press down the CAL & DP/WBT buttons to start the humidity calibration.
• Calibrating value of 33% (32.7% if at 25?C) & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 60 minutes to indicate manual calibration activation.
• After completing the 33% calibration, plug the sensor probe into the 75% salt bottle and press the ENTER button to start 75% calibration.
• Calibrating value of 75% (75.2% if at 25?C) & CAL should blink on the LCD for approximately 60 minutes to indicate the calibration process.
• To calibrate only 33%, press the ESC button after the 33% calibration is complete.
• To calibrate only 75%, press the UP or DOWN button after pressing the CAL & DP/WBT buttons.
• Turn off the meter at any time to stop the calibration.
