Ultra-Lok System

Ultra-Lok System

Ultra-Lok System of BAND-IT allows faster installation than a simple band locked using buckle hand tools. Its unique locking system works under full tension for maximising tightness / clamping force and provides a gap-free inside diameter. The Buckle hood of an Ultra-Lok System protects band locks from snagging.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ZERON 100 BAND-FAST band?

ZERON 100 BAND-FAST band is made from Zeron 100 material that has superior corrosion resistance & strength compared to common alloys for use in subsea oil & gas applications. Zeron 100 generally contains a blend of chromium, nickel & molybdenum added with copper & tungsten.

What are some points to consider for selecting the right BAND-IT clamp?

  • Type of hose, fluid flowing through the hose & application type (light-duty or medium-duty).
  • Pressure & temperature rating of application, environment & hose.
  • Hose material and hose fitting barb designs should also be considered before selecting a BAND-IT clamp.

How can users install BAND-IT clamps?

  • Insert the selected band through a banding clip, strapping seal, band retainer or buckle and bend it underneath the buckle. This buckle wrap is squeezed to flatten the bend and prevent pull-out of the band during tensioning.
  • Wrap the band over the hose or pole and thread the free band end through the buckle bridge. Bands can be double wrapped for greater clamp tightness & holding strength than single wrapped bands.
  • Place the free end from the buckle inside a banding tool and apply tension on the band for clamping tightly to the application surface. The band stops moving through the buckle after the tool applies maximum tension.
  • Now, roll the tool over the buckle to release some tension and pull the tool's cutting handle to cut the extra length of the band.
  • Remove the tool. Hold down the clamp tail between buckle ears and hammer down the buckle ears for holding the band stub in place.
  • Now, the BAND-IT clamp is securely placed over the application surface.

What standards / certifications do BAND-IT clamps abide by?

BAND-IT clamps are manufactured under international certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & IATF 16949 for superior quality, reliability, user safety and environmental health. They are also UL listed for complying with safety protocols / standards.

Can BAND-IT clamps be used in extreme temperatures?

Yes, BAND-IT clamps can be used in extreme temperatures (both hot and cold). However, the range of temperature resistance may vary based on the construction of the Band-It clamp used.

How do I maintain and care for my BAND-IT clamps?

  • Clean the clamps to remove dirt or debris accumulated over time.
  • Inspect the clamps regularly for signs of damage, wear or corrosion.
  • Lubricate the clamps, if needed, to ensure proper function and extend the operating life.
  • Store the clamps in a clean, dry place when not in use.
  • Follow the instructions from Band-It for other care requirements or specific maintenance.
