GPI TM Series water meters measure the volume of water that passes through heavy flow water pipes for irrigation, waste water treatment and water supply applications. These water meters are also suitable for measuring water passing through OEM water treatment equipment and feature lightweight yet durable PVC construction for easily connecting to water supply lines. Selected GPI TM Series water meters feature integrated seven segment display for monitoring & displaying various parameters including flow rate and batch & cumulative totals. These water meters can display water flow in liters, gallons and cubic feet. These GPI TM Series water meters have a built in lithium battery that offers up to 5 years of hassle-free usage in industrial environments. These water meters further feature NPT / spigot style fittings for ensuring easy installation depending upon the application requirement. GPI TM Series water meters are available with display & without display options on Raptor Supplies.
GPI 02A Series water meters are ideal for accurately measuring water flow in hydraulic applications. They are used for irrigation and in commercial & industrial settings to monitor water usage for billing and conservation purposes. They feature dual totalising capabilities like batch and cumulative options to measure the flow during a single usage, ensuring accurate long-term tracking of water consumption. These water meters offer a remote monitoring option that allows the meter to connect to an external system using NPN open collector pulse technology. Their LCD readout is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries for minimal disruption to operations. These GPI 02A Series water meters can withstand a fluid temprature range of 14 to 130 degrees F.
Dayton flowmeters are designed to accurately measure flow rate of viscous liquids, water, oil and chemicals. They are installed between two fluid pipelines, serving both as a connector and measuring device. These meters have a turbine which is rotated by the upcoming flow and a digital display for accurately displaying the flow rate in unit, such as litre, gallon, quarts, pints, ounces and decilitres. Choose from a wide range of flowmeters, available in nylon and aluminium housing options on Raptor Supplies.
Electronic flowmeters are used to measure the volume or mass of liquid, gas or vapour passing through food processing equipment or plumbing lines. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these electronic flowmeters from brands like Dayton, Fill-rite, Flomec and GPI. GPI flowmeters feature a turbine capable of delivering flow rates within the range of 3 – 30 GPM (10 – 100 LPM) and facilitate direct mounting on the nozzle for easy reading. These compact and lightweight flowmeters have an aluminium housing for withstanding impact loads and further come equipped with a nylon rotor, ceramic bearings, a tungsten carbide shaft and a 4-digit LCD screen. The Flomec flowmeters have a positive displacement design that allows direct volumetric measurement and remains unaffected by changes in temperature, pressure or viscosity – factors which can cause measurement errors in other flowmeter technologies. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these flowmeters available in pressure rating options of 50 PSI, 150 PSI, 285 PSI, 580 PSI and 1500 PSI.
Working Mechanism
Electronic flowmeters calculate the speed of a fluid going through a pipe using a magnetic field to calculate the volumetric flow. They work on the principle of Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction. According to this, liquid produces a voltage when it flows through a magnetic field. The quicker the fluid flow, the more the voltage produced. The voltage generated is directly proportional to the water movement; the voltage signal is processed into the volumetric flow rate by the electronics.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which type of flow meters are most precise?
Coriolis mass flow meters are precise for most liquids but are usually expensive. They have the benefit of not requiring any knowledge about the fluid being carried.
What is the expected life of a flow meter?
In applications like subsea oil / gas production, flow meters usually have a life expectancy of 25 years. Whereas in other applications, a simple disposable device with a one to two year lifespan is acceptable.
What are the points to be considered before choosing any flow meter?
The media being measured is one of the most important criteria while choosing a flow meter. Conductivity, temperature, pressure, and viscosity can affect certain flow meters. How clean or dirty the water is may also impact the type and style of the meter.
